The Blue Hut Radio project is a collaboration between Discover Young Hackney and the Roundhouse as part of Roundhouse’s Radio’s Round 1 London 2012 Project.

Kat B (MTV Base) hosts an entertainment spectacular featuring top artists alongside the best that young Hackney has to offer. Alter Ego will see Hackney’s young singers, dancers, rappers, actors and comedians all competing for the title ‘Alter Ego 2012’

The winner of Alter Ego will receive professional industry mentoring, be fast tracked into Hackney Empire’s new talent variety show Live @ The Empire and have doors of opportunity opened up during the summer of 2012.

Alter Ego comes under the umbrella of the Hackney Empire’s Youth Takeover weekender, which will be held on 3^rd – 5^th February 2012. This weekend is made for and by young people in and around Hackney. Events include an Opportunity Fair giving advice on how to get into the arts industry, Creative Writing workshops led by Tameka Empson (Eastenders), Dance Workshops led by Kat B and Comedy Workshops led by Hardeep Singh (TV favourite).
