Discover Young Hackney featured on the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games homepage…
This week we blogged on the London 2012 website about the successful launch of the festival to let everyone know what is going on in Hackney (and of course how beautiful Hackney is and how talented young people in Hackney are). Read it for yourself by clicking on the link: http://www.london2012.com/blog/2009/02/04/discovering-young-hackney-s-games-inspiration.php
Discover Young Hackney has joined London 2012's Inspire programme and bears the 'Inspire' mark which recognises the festival’s success in getting local young people involved in the arts and creative industries. It's great news for Hackney and the festival.
If you feel like getting your teeth into more cultural Olympic projects, a good way to start would be to take part in the Mapping the Change project at the Hackney Museum. Between now and 2012 Hackney Museum and Hackney Archives will be recording the changes to local people’s lives brought about by the London Olympic and Paralympic Games. To find out more or get involved contact us on 020 8356 3500 or mappingthechange@hackney.gov.uk.
Did you come along to the Hackney One Carnival last summer? Thousands enjoyed Hackney One Carnival to celebrate the launch of the Cultural Olympiad, read more here

The Cultural Olympiad is a really important part of the London 2012 vision – it will allow people to take part in cultural events and celebrations in every London community and all around the UK – helping to create one of the biggest celebrations ever known in the UK.
The Games in 2012 will bring together sport, culture and education in the Cultural Olympiad. The Cultural Olympiad officially starts in Autumn 2008 and runs right through until the London Games in 2012.
